As promised, UK Konkans organised an exciting picnic at Riverside Laleham
Park in Chertsey on the 13th September 2008. The weather was exceptionally
fantastic with a warm and bright sunny day. Raphael and Tom took the responsibility
of games and sports activities while other office bearers helped with
the refreshments and food.
The picnic commenced at 11:00 am with a delicious Mangalorean breakfast.
All the participants were divided into four teams i.e. London, Manchester,
Bristol and Liverpool to ensure, each and every participant actively involved
in all the events.
Various games were organised to make this event enjoyable to each and
everyone. Main attraction was Lagori and 7 a side Cricket Match. The crowd
was entertained by jokes and songs by various participants.
Eric D'souza, cultural secretary organised Barbeque and the crowd was treated with delicious mangalorean food prepared by the office bearers.
Children, teenagers and adults took part in all the activities making it most successful family picnic At the end, this fun filled picnic proved to be a relaxing and memorable event for the members and their families of UK Konkans.
